SUMMER CLASSES

Our Summer Classes will begin the week of June 2 and go through the week of August 11. Summer Classes will be offered Monday - Wednesday. Check out our Summer Class schedule below.

All classes will be offered in a drop in format. You are welcome to purchase one class at at time or buy a Class Pass! 

MONDAY Summer Classes @ NBDC

STUDIO 1

Class Descriptions - Youth Classes (ages 18 most - 8 years)

WE DANCE

  • This class will introduce dancers to the studio and classroom environment. Using interactive music, dancers and grown ups will be led through stretches, basic dance steps, and movement across the floor. Creative play and movement across the tumbling mat is also a part of class time! 

MICRO MOVERS

  • Our Micro Mover class is the perfect transition for dancers moving from our We Dance class into our Mini Mover classes! It's also a great option for 3 year olds who could use practice following basic instructions in a structured and engaging classroom! Dancers will do many of the same activities as We Dance (see above), but without their grown up.

MINI, MIGHTY, & MEGA MOVERS

  • MOVE & GROOVE - Our Move & Groove class is funky and fresh! Dancers will learn basic hip hop foundations, footwork, and rhythm. They will be encouraged to express themselves through freestyle! They will be moving and grooving - and having fun!
  • TAP & TECHNIQUE - This combination class will be split between learning basic tap foundations and jazz/ballet technique. Dancers will love learning different styles of dance! The engaging format will keep them leaning and having fun!

Class Descriptions - Level I & II Classes; Adults (ages 9+)

TECHNIQUE 

  • Our technique classes utilize jazz, ballet, and contemporary technique to build verstaile, strong, and well-rounded dancers. 

HIP HOP

  • In hip hop, dancers learn the foundational moves that give hip hop dance the essential groove. Dancers are given the opportunity to express themselves through freestyle. Choreography is not taught in this class; it's skills and drills!!

TAP

  • Our tap class is a rhythmic and energetic experience where students learn to create music with their feet. It focuses on developing precision, coordination, and musicality through traditional and contemporary tap dance techniques.

COMBO

  • Dancers will learn a combo (choreography) and work on retention, performance, and intention. A different style of dance will be taught every 1-2 weeks. Styles will include (but are not limited to) jazz, hip hop, musical theater, contemporary, lyrical, and jazz funk! 

FUNKY FRESH FIT

  • This high energy workout class set to hip hop music is the best, most fun way to stay funky fresh and get fit. No dance experience is necessary. All movement is simple, repetitive, and hip hop inspired.
