AIM DANCE - Abilities In Motion

  • THURSDAYS     6:25-7:10 pm
    • Classes begin the week of August 31.
  • Monthly Tuition - $36.00
    • Montly tuition will be auto-drafted the 5th of each month. 

AIM dance classes recognize how movement serves an integral role in helping the brain function at its best and is created for individuals with learning differences and a wide variety of diagnoses. It uses music, purposeful movement, and defined rhythm patterns to fully integrate the body and mind. Our AIM Dance faculty are certified in Rhythm Works Integrative; a ground-breaking rhythm and dance class that uses evidence-based therapeutic practices to achieve developmental goals. To our students, it's a fun and exciting activity that provides participation and socialization opportunities. Our teachers incorporate elements and strategies that best support your dancer's needs and learning style.

Dancers can wear whatever is comfortable and can be moved in. Shoes, socks, ballet shoes, or bare feet can be worn.

WE DANCE - ages 18 months-3 years

  • THURSDAYS     5:00-5:30 pm
    • Classes will begin the week of August 31.

We Dance is for our youngest dancers ages 18 months - 2 years and a grown up. It's a fun, engaging class that introduces young dancers to creative movement and play as well as basic dance skills, all while working towards listening and following simple instructions. Grown ups get to take class with their dancer as some dancers aren't ready to take class on their own quite yet. Dancers and grown ups both have fun moving and grooving together in We Dance!

Dancers and Grown Ups can wear whatever is comfortable and can be moved in! Dancers can wear ballet shoes or bare feet.

The We Dance class will learn a dance to be performed in “A Book of Tales”, our Fall Showcase taking place December 12.

MICRO MOVER DANCE - ages 3-4 years

  • THURSDAYS     5:35-6:20 pm
    • Classes will begin the week of August 31.
  • Monthly Tuition - $36.00
    • Monthly tuition will be auto-drafted the 5th of each month. 

Our Micro Mover Dance class is designed for 3-4 year-olds, serving as a stepping stone to our Mini Mover classes. This independent class encourages listening, following basic instructions, and creative movement. Dancers will begin to learn fundamental dance skills, preparing them for the transition to Mini Mover classes once they are proficient in following instructions without a grown-up.

Dancers can wear whatever is comfortable and can be moved in! Many dancers this age love dance dresses, leotards, and dance skirts. Or, for our gentlemen, dancers can wear shorts, pants, and a shirt.
Dancers can wear ballet shoes or bare feet.

The Micro Mover Dance class will learn a dance to be performed in “A Book of Tales”, our Fall Showcase taking place December 12.

MINI MOVERS - ages 5-6 years

MINI MOVER HIP HOP

  • TUESDAYS     5:00-5:45 pm
    • Classes begin the week of August 31.
  • Monthly Tuition - $36.00

Mini Mover Hip Hop for dancers ages 5-6 years is a fun, high energy, community based class that will focus on the foundations of hip hop dance! Dancers will work on hip hop foundations, rhythm, and freestyle. 

Dancers can wear whatever is comfortable and can be moved in. Tennis shoes are a must! No crocs, sandals, or other dance shoes please!

The Mini Mover Hip Hop class will learn a dance to be performed in     “A Book of Tales”, our Fall Showcase taking place December 12.

 

MINI MOVER TECHNIQUE

  • TUESDAYS     5:45-6:30 pm
    • Classes will begin the week of August 31.
  • Monthly Tuition - $36.00
    • Monthly tuition will be auto-drafted the 5th of each month.

Mini Mover Technique for dancers ages 5-6 years will introduce both jazz and ballet technique to dancers! Dancers will learn and focus on ballet and jazz terminology, proper form, basic skills in jazz and ballet, and how jazz and ballet can work together!

Dancers are encouraged to wear dance clothing such as ballet/jazz dresses, leotard and tights, top and bike shorts.
Dancers can wear ballet shoes and/or jazz shoes. Dancers will eventually need to have jazz shoes. Shoe recommnedations can be found in the class description in Studio-Pro.

The Mini Mover Technique class will learn a dance to be performed in “A Book of Tales”, our Fall Showcase taking place December 12.

 

MINI MOVER TAP

  • TUESDAYS     6:30-7:15 pm
    • Classes will begin the week of August 31.
  • Monthly tuition - $36.00
    • Monthly tuition will be auto-drafted the 5th of each month.

Mini Mover Tap class for dancers ages 5-6 will focus on basic tap skills and drills, rhythm, and learning while having FUN!

Dancers can wear whatever is comfortable and can be moved in. Dancers will need black tap shoes. Shoe recommnedations can be found in the class description in Studio-Pro.

The Mini Mover Tap class will learn a dance to be performed in “A Book of Tales”, our Fall Showcase taking place December 12.

MEGA MOVERS - ages 7-10 years

MEGA MOVER TAP

  • TUESDAYS     5:00-5:45 pm
    • Classes will begin the week of August 31.

Mega Mover Tap class for dancers ages 7-8 will focus on:
- basic tap skills and drills
- rhythm (aka musicality)
- tap tricks
- learning while having FUN!

Dancers can wear whatever is comfortable and they can be moved in and black tie tap shoes. Shoe recommendations can be found in the class desription in Studio-Pro.

The Mega Mover Tap class will learn a dance to be performed in “A Book of Tales”, our Fall Showcase taking place December 12.

 

MEGA MOVER HIP HOP 

  • TUESDAYS     5:45-6:30 pm
    • Classes begin the week of August 31.
  • Monthly Tuition - $36.00
    • Monthly tuition will be auto-drafted the 5th of each month.

Mega Mover Hip Hop for dancers ages 7-10 years is a fun, high energy, community based class that will focus on the foundations of hip hop dance! In class, dancers will focus on:
- hip hop foundations
- rhythm (aka musicality)
- freestyle
- footwork
- isolations
- hip hop history

Dancers can wear whatever is comfortable and can be moved in. Tennis shoes are a must! No crocs, sandals, or other dance shoes please!

The Mega Mover Hip Hop class will learn a dance to be performed in “A Book of Tales”, our Fall Showcase taking place December 12.

 

MEGA MOVER JAZZ

  • THURSDAYS     5:00-6:00 pm
    • Classes begin the week of August 31.
  • Monthly Tuition - $48.00
    • Monthly tuition will be auto-drafted the 5th of each month.

Our Mega Mover Jazz class for dancers ages 7-8 years will focus on:
- proper form and jazz technique 
- strength, flexibilty, and stability
- footwork
- turns
- high kicks
- leaps
- jazz dance history

Dancers can wear dance clothing such as a leotard, dance skirt, hot/bike shorts, leggings, dance dress. Dancers can wear jazz shoes. Shoe recommendations can be found in the class description in Studio-Pro. 

The Mega Mover Jazz class will learn a dance to be performed in “A Book of Tales”, our Fall Showcase taking place December 12.

 

MEGA MOVER BALLET

  • THURSDAYS     6:00-6:45 pm
    • Classes begin the week of Augsut 31.
  • Monthly Tuition - $36.00
    • Monthly tuition will be auto-drafted the 5th of each month.

Our Mega Mover Ballet class for dancers ages 7-10 will focus on ballet based technique that complements their jazz and lyrical technique. We will work on:
- basic ballet barre
- rotation from the hips to increase turn out
- foot flexibility and strength
- knowledge and awareness of the body and how it works

Dancers can wear dance clothing such as a leotard, tights, dance dress, dance skirt, top, hot/bike shorts. Dancers can wear ballet shoes. Shoe recommendations can be found in the class description in Studio-Pro.

The Mega Mover Ballet class will learn a dance to be performed in “A Book of Tales”, our Fall Showcase taking place December 12.

 

MEGA MOVER LYRICAL

  • THURSDAYS     6:45-7:15 pm
    • Classes begin the week of August 31. 
  • Monthly Tuition - $24.00
    • Monthly tuition will be auto-drafted the 5th of each month.

Our Mega Mover Lyrical class is for dancers ages 7-10 years who are interested in adding emotion, storytelling, and musicality to their movement. Lyrical dance takes the grace of ballet and the strength of jazz and combines them to form expression and connection. Dancers enrolled in Mega Mover Lyrical must also be enrolled in Mega Mover Ballet.

Dancers can wear dance clothing such as a leotard, tights, dance dress, dance skirt, top, hot/bike shorts. Dancers are welcome to wear their ballet shoes, socks, or bare feet.

The Mega Mover Lyrical class will learn a dance to be performed in “A Book of Tales”, our Fall Showcase taking place December 12.

BREAKING 101 - ages 7+

  • TUESDAYS     6:30-7:00 pm
    • Classes begin the week of August 31. 
  • Monthly Tuition - $24.00
    • Monthly tuition will be auto-drafted the 5th of each month. 

Breaking 101 is for ALL dancers ages 7+ (including Level I, II, and Adult dancers) and will teach foundations, drills, and skills of beginning breaking. Dancers will start off with conditioning for breaking before moving into skills and drills. Dancers who enroll in Breaking 101 MUST also be enrolled in/taking a weekly hip hop class at NBDC.

Dancers can wear whatever is comfortable and can be moved in. Pants and long sleeved shirts are encouraged. Dancers must wear tennis shoes. No crocs, sandals, or other dance shoes please!

LEVEL I & II

  • Level I is geared towards advanced dancers.
  • Level II is for dancers at an intermediate skill level. 
  • There are no age requirements for Level I & II classes as they are based on skill level. Typically, Level I/II dancers are ages 11+ (including adults). 
  • All Level I & II Classes are drop in. There is NO enrollment. Class Passes will be used when dancers attend class.
    • Class Passes can be purchased through your Studio-Pro account.

      • 1 Class - $12

      • 10 Class Pass - $110

JAZZ I & II

  • MONDAYS
    • 5:00-6:30 pm     JAZZ II
    • 6:30-8:00 pm     JAZZ I
  • Jazz I & II will begin with a solid warm up focused on proper form, strength, flexibility, and stabilty. Utilizing technique from warm up, dancers will move into center and across the floor exercises to work on turns, high kicks, leaps, and footwork, expression, and style - all things jazz. To help connect the dancer to the dance, jazz dance history will also be shared.
  • Dancers can wear whatever is comfortable and can be moved in. Dance clothing is encouraged. Dancers can wear dance socks, jazz shoes, contemporary shoes, or bare feet.

 

BALLET I & II

  • MONDAYS
    • 5:00-6:30 pm     BALLET I
    • 6:30-8:00 pm     BALLET II
  • Ballet I & II is highly encouraged for dancers taking Jazz I & II and/or Contemporary I & II. While each dance genre has its own technique and history, ballet technique is beneficial to both jazz and contemporary dance as it builds upon strength, flexibilty, and stabilty. Ballet allows dancers to be well-rounded which supports dynamic, technical, and liberated movers. 
  • Dancers can wear whatever is comfortable and can be moved in. Form fitting dancewear is encouraged. Dancers can wear ballet shoes or dance socks.

 

TAP I & II

  • WEDNESDAYS
    • 5:45-6:30 pm     TAP I & II (combined)
  • Tap I & II begins with a warm up focused on getting the lower body moving, basic tap skills, and rhythm. After a good warm up, dancers will work on center and across the floor tap skills and drills, tricks,  and some fun (and challenging) brain teasers! Class concludes with a short tap combo to bring it all together. 
  • Dancers can wear whatever is comfortable and can be moved in. Dancers can wear black tap shoes of their choosing.

 

HIP HOP I & II

  • WEDNESDAYS    
    • 6:30-7:15 pm (combined)
  • Hip Hop I & II will begin with a warm up focused on hip hop foundations, party dances, and community. After warm up, dancers will utilize variations of foundations and party moves drilled in warm up to hone their freestyle skills and voice. Class will conclude with commercial hip hop or hip hop choreography.
  • Dancers can wear whatever is comfortable and can be moved in. Tennis shoes/sneakers can be worn.

 

CONTEMPORARY I & II

  • WEDNESDAYS
    • 7:15-8:15 pm (combined)
  • Contemporary I & II will begin with an intentional modern based warm up. Follwoing warm up, dancers will explore different movement patterns, emotions, musiality, and storytelling through guided improv. Class will conlcude with a contemporary combo that will bring it all together. 
  • Dancers can wear whatever is comfortable and can be moved in. Dance socks, contemporary or jazz shoes, or bare feet can be worn.

ADULTS

  • We offer 3 weekly classes for our Adult dancers: Adult Dance 101, Adult Tap, and Adult Hip Hop.
  • Our Adult Tap and Adult Hip Hop classes are open level classes, meaning dancers of any and every skill level are welcome. Modificaitons can be made to fit any skill level from beginner to advanced. 
  • Adult Dance 101 is a very-beginner friendly. While the class will be geared towards beginners, all skill levels from never-danced-before to advanced dancers are welcome! 
  • All Adult Classes are drop in. There is NO enrollment. Class Passes will be used when dancers attend class.
    • Class Passes can be purchased through your Studio-Pro account.

      • 1 Class - $12

ADULT DANCE 101

  • TUESDAYS     7:15-8:15 pm
  • Adult Dance 101 is for beginner dancers who are interested in exploring different styles of dance. A different style of dance (tap, jazz, ballet, hip hop, lyrical/contemporary) will be rotated through every 2 weeks. Foundations and basic skills will be the focus.
  • Dancers can wear whatever is comfortable and can be moved in. Shoes will depend on the style of dance:
    • Tap - tap shoes encouraged but not required
    • Jazz/Ballet/Lyrical/Contemporary - dance socks, jazz shoes, ballet shoes, or bare feet
    • Hip Hop - tennish shoes/sneakers

 

ADULT HIP HOP

  • WEDNESDAYS      5:30-6:30 pm
  • Adult Hip Hop begins with a high energy warm up focused on hip hop foundations, musicality, and endurance. It's like a dance party. Following warm up, dancers will take the foundations and add variations and party dances to work on their freestyle. Class concludes with commercial hip hop or hip hop choreography.
  • Dancers can wear whatever is comfortable and can be moved in. Tennis shoes/sneakers can be worn.  

 

ADULT TAP

  • WEDNESDAYS     6:30-7:15 pm
  • Adult Tap starts with a warm up that gets the lower body moving and focuses on basic tap skills and rhythms. Following the warm up, dancers learn center and across the floor tap skills and drills, tap tricks, and fun (and challenging!) brain teasers. Adult Tap ends with a tap combo that brings it all together.

How do I sign up? Do I register? Or do I need a Class Pass?

CLASS PASS

Dancers who register for class(es) will be enrolled into their chosen class(es) until they drop the class or graduate to Level I & II classes. 

Monthly tuition is auto-drafted for all registered classes.

Class Passes are for all of our drop in classes. 

Drop in classes do not require enrollment. Dancers literally drop in when their schedule allows. While consistency in attendance is beneficial to learning and growth, drop in classes give dancers ownership of their dance journey. They can come to one or come to all - or somewhere in between.
